Alicia E. McCormick, M.Ed, MVMS Principal
As we start the new school year and I enter my sixth year as the principal of Mount View Elementary School, I find myself with the opportunity to take on the leadership of Mount View Middle School, as well.
Having spent nine years teaching at the middle school, stepping into the role of principal feels a bit like coming home to family. It is an honor to once again join this very professional and dedicated staff, and I hope to provide the support and leadership that both the elementary and the middle school need to facilitate a positive and successful school year.
This district, these schools, these students represent my heart, my spirit, and my commitment. I look forward to continuing as the principal of Mount View Elementary and Middle Schools until my retirement many years from now.
A little about me --
I grew up in Liberty, Maine where my parents, Russell and Elaine Pepler still live, and was a 1986 graduate of Mount View High School. I definitely "bleed green". I currently live in Unity, Maine with my husband, Dan McCormick where we have raised our seven children. We now have eight grandchildren, and five of them will be attending school this year at MVES. I am so blessed!
This is my 22nd year as an educator in RSU3. I graduated from the University of Maine in 1990 with a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication, and in 2003 with my Master’s in Education. During my years as a teacher I taught elementary school grades K-2, and middle school ELA and Social Studies. In 2017, I entered a CAS program to earn my certificate in Administration from the University of Maine at Farmington, and became certified as a K-12 Building Administrator in 2019. I received the RSU3 Outstanding Award for my teaching in 2014, was nominated twice for Maine County Teacher of the Year, and won the RSU3 Leadership Award in 2022 for my work as principal.
I want to be a visible and approachable principal for this staff, these students, and our community. If you ever need to reach me, please email me at amccormick@rsu3.org.
